Winery Experience
The Village Botanist Range Of Wines Is A Celebration Of The Pull To Make
Artisan Wine. Crafted By Vanessa Altmann Former Head Winemaker At
Temple Bruer Wines And Twice National Young Gun Of Wine Finalist. The
Progressive Winemaker Has Made Wine For Sixteen Years Throughout The
Regions Of The Adelaide Hills, Barossa And Langhorne Creek.
With A Focus On Sustainable And Organic Winemaking, Vanessa Began
Fermenting Small Batch Wines Under The Label Switch Wine During 2010. The
Village Botanist Range Is An Extension Of This Winemaking Philosophy And
Style.
During Vintage You’ll Find Us With Buckets At The Ready, Thrown Towards
Friends And Enjoying Long Picnic Lunches Amongst The Vines. We Seek
Organically Grown Parcels Of Fruit And Working Closely With Growers And
Friends Is All Part Of How We Like To Make Wine. We Live By The Ethos That
Outstanding Wines Come Not Only From Great Vineyards, But From People Who
Love What They Do.
These Are Small Batch Wines, Sometimes Made In Quantities As Limited As
100 Cases. We Get That Buying From Small Independent Makers Can Be
Tricky. There’s The Perils Of Online Stores And Forms, Or Actually Being
Organised Enough To Get The Wine Shop - Our Aim Is To Offer These Wines In A
Different Way Direct From The Winemaker To The Wine Drinker, It’s That Easy.
